Core Concepts

Organization

The top-level container for all your resources. Organizations allow you to:

  • Separate different companies or clients
  • Manage team access
  • Control billing

You can belong to multiple organizations and switch between them using the org switcher. Learn more →

Project

A container that groups related inboxes together. Projects help you organize inboxes by:

  • Environment: production, staging, development
  • Feature: signup-flow, password-reset, notifications
  • Team: frontend-tests, backend-tests

Each project has its own settings and can have multiple inboxes. Learn more →

Inbox

A disposable email address that receives and stores emails. Each inbox has:

  • A unique email address (e.g., abc123xyz@stamp0.com)
  • A status (active or disabled)
  • A history of received emails

Inboxes are the core resource you interact with when testing email workflows. Learn more →

Email

A message received by an inbox. Each email contains:

  • From: Sender address
  • Subject: Email subject line
  • Body: Both HTML and plain text versions
  • Received At: Timestamp when the email arrived
  • Read Status: Whether you've viewed the email

Access Control

Member

A user who has access to your organization. Members can have different roles with varying permissions. Learn more →

Roles

Permission levels that define what actions members can perform:

API Key

A secure token used for programmatic access to Stamp0. API keys allow:

SDK

Testing Concepts

E2E Testing (End-to-End Testing)

Testing that verifies complete user flows, including email interactions like:

  • User signup with email verification
  • Password reset flows
  • OTP verification

OTP (One-Time Password)

A temporary code sent via email for verification. Stamp0 helps you extract OTPs from emails for automated testing.

A URL sent in emails that users click to verify their email address or complete an action. Stamp0 helps you extract and follow these links in tests.

Email Terms

Email Address

The unique @stamp0.com address assigned to each inbox. Example: abc123xyz@stamp0.com

HTML Body

The formatted HTML version of an email, including styling and layout.

Plain Text Body

The text-only version of an email, without any formatting.

Read Status

Indicates whether an email has been viewed. Emails are automatically marked as read when you view them.

API Terms

Rate Limit

Controls on API usage to ensure fair use. Default is 100 requests per 24 hours per API key.

Project ID

A unique identifier for your project, prefixed with prj_. Example: prj_abc123

Inbox ID

A unique identifier for an inbox, prefixed with inb_. Example: inb_xyz789

Storage & Retention

Email Retention

Emails are stored for 30 days. After that, they're automatically deleted.

Email Size Limit

Emails up to 25MB are accepted. Larger emails will be rejected.
